HOUSTON, TX – It was a selfless decision that cost a Port Arthur man his life last month while shielding and protecting children during an armed robbery at a Denny’s off I-10 and Washington.

64-year-old Robert Greig Placette was shot and killed during that robbery, but his brave and courageous act will never be forgotten.

That’s why all 57 Denny’s restaurants in the Houston hosted a special benefit, donating 25 percent of all sales from 4p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday night to the Robert Greig Placette Memorial Fund.

All four suspects involved in the deadly robbery have been caught and are awaiting their trials for capital murder.
