HOUSTON, TX – It’s quite difficult to make Houston traffic worse than it already is, but where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Close a lane at 59 and the Beltway. Trust us; it makes life a little harder. Unfortunately in this case, it’s a necessary evil.
According to Danny Perez, a Public Information Officer with the Texas Department of Transportation, the area that is being constructed on is beyond its life expectancy and will be closed for over two months.
The slow lane on 59 is going to be closed as well as the Bellfort entrance ramp.
There are ways around the construction that drivers will have to figure out; it just might take a while to work out the kinks.
The Texas Department of Transportation recommends leaving earlier, finding alternate routes and a lot of patience.
Patience isn’t necessarily the best quality of Houston drivers, but now we have an opportunity to work on that one.
