HOUSTON – For months it’s been to tear down or not to tear down? Some want to get rid of the Astrodome, while others want to turn it into an uber-cool convention center.
There’s been proposed plans, and it all comes down to a vote, but now it looks like the county and Reliant Park are taking action.
Officials have confirmed they will start demolishing ramps and other exterior features of the dome soon.
The work seems a bit pre-mature considering Harris County voters won’t decide until November 5th if they want to approve the $194 million plan to turn the Astrodome into the ‘New Dome Experience.’
But whether or not it’s going to happen, it looks like the county is still buckling down and getting down to business!
