LOS ANGELES, CA – There was a lot more to worry about than missing your flight at the Los Angeles International Airport when a gunman opened fire at terminal 3 inside LAX Friday morning.

As you can imagine, panic quickly spread as crowds of people were sent into a stampede, running for safety.

Los Angeles Police say the shooter walked to the security checkpoint, pulled a rifle from his bag and shot two TSA agents. As he made his way through the checkpoint, an officer opened fire and shot the suspect. They were able to take him into custody, where he was identified as 23-year-old Paul Ciancia. One of the TSA agents was killed and several others were injured. They were taken to the hospital.

Police believe Ciancia acted alone. No motive has been given, but when it comes down to it, there’s really just no excuse for such a selfish act.
