SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX – It’s that time of year again, when cold winds and slick roads combine for some cars slip-sliding through the slick city streets.

Usually it causes minor fender-benders but a weather-related wreck involving Willie Nelson’s band tour bus Saturday morning in east Texas sent some people to the hospital.

Department of Public Safety troopers say the red headed stranger wasn’t on board the bus when it crashed into a bridge pillar near Sulphur Springs but three of his band members were injured, one of them seriously.

Troopers say the bus driver had been dealing with wet roads and high winds at the time.

The accident has caused Willie to suspend his tour indefinitely.

Fans are showing an outpour of emotion on Willie’s Facebook, showing the singer that he and his touring family are always on their mind.
