HOUSTON – For the third weekend in a row, a teen in the Houston area has fallen victim to gun violence.

It happened at about 8 p.m. Saturday at the Bellaire Gardens Apartments in southwest Houston. Police say they do not know much about what happened, just that the boy was found dead inside an apartment with one gunshot wound.

Rumors ran rampant at the scene that a Facebook post had something to do with the murder, but cops are convinced that’s not true. “I did hear that there was some social media issues along with this. There’s not, to any of our knowledge that social media played any part in this at all,” said Officer R. Olive with HPD Homicide Division.

Right now, there is no suspect, but cops are questioning several people. It’s such a shame that these kids keep ending up on the wrong side of a loaded weapon.
