HOUSTON, TX – A prayer before a nice meal, except there isn’t any meal here.

They’re fasting for 24 hours in Houston, in solidarity with the ‘Fast 4 Families’ protesters in Washington D.C. on behalf of immigration reform.

The fasters hope to send a message to House Speaker John Boehner so that what they describe as a ‘cruel’ immigration system can be fixed.

Some of the D.C. protestors, who have been fasting since mid-November, have been told to stop for medical reasons, but those who still fast, do it to be heard.
