NEW YORK CITY, NY – Pope Francis Superstar! He’s the man! The person of the year, according to Time Magazine. The guy who brought compassion and humility to your news reports, defeated Miley Cyrus, Edward Snowden, Bashar Al-Assad and Ted Cruz in the race to the annual most prestigious front page.

For Time’s editor, he’s the Pope-of-the-people. Unlike his predecessor, who was focused on doctrine, Jorge Bergoglio is making sure the Catholic church is more devoted to service. He’s taken a stand for peace and the poor.  He’s letting women play a more active role in religious life. He’s been tough on pedophiles and is slowly, slowly starting to recognize gays and lesbians as people.

So, congratulations to His Holiness.
