You can tell a lot by a woman and the shoes she wears.

New York-based Chilean designer Sebastian Errazuriz decided to explore  the question of love and sex through the memory of previous relationships,by immortalizing 12 former lovers in uniquely-designed shoes. The 36-yr-old’s creation is called. 12 Shoes for 12 Lovers and it’s a hit at this year’s annual Art Basel in Miami. The mini shoe masterpieces are tributes and take downs to these women who have “walked” in and out of his life.
From Sophie The Ice Queen, to Laura The Heartbreaker, and don’t forget Allison The Gold Digger, Jessica The Jet Setter and Alexandra The Cry Baby.

Paired with each shoe are personal anecdotes about what exactly defined that ex to him and ultimately inspired the designs.

The stories are alternately racy, wistful, bizarre, and brutally honest. Errazuriz says that he contacted each of his exes before designing their shoe and changed the names to protect their identities.

Some are calling Errazuriz a “whiny manchild” and think it’s ridiculous he used his exes for art.

Me personally, I love the concept. Different people walk in and out of your life and certain moments and aspects of their personality stick with you. What a creative way to showcase or “shoecase” that. I hope that one day he finds his Cinderella and creates a glass slipper and they live happily ever after.

And that’s today’s helping of The Online Dish with Maggie.
