Ice on the East Coast; Fire on the West Coast

USA – As much as 16 inches of snow pummeled parts of the northeast over the weekend, and now more winter weather is en-route. Providence, Boston and Portland, Maine could get another half foot!

It’s wet stuff that would be much more appreciated on the west coast.

A big fire in Big Sur, California is burning out of control. As of Tuesday morning, it was only about five percent contained.

“The fire did grow only about 50 acres overnight,” says Mark Nunez with the U.S. Forest Service.

Over a dozen houses have been destroyed, including the Big Sur fire chief’s. Chief Martha Karstens went to work to save other people’s property, and ended up losing her own.
