180 new surveillance cameras to go up in downtown Houston

HOUSTON, TX– Can you feel big brother watching?  Well in 2014, if you’re in downtown Houston, know that big brother’s gaze is about to get a little bit wider.  180 new surveillance cameras are going up downtown.

The video surveillance system was built with Homeland Security funding, and the crime fighting aspect is just an added bonus.

Love it or hate it, the watchful eye is part of downtown’s landscape now, and big brother’s gaze appears even wider than ever.
