HOUSTON, TX – Students of all ages at Briarmeadow Charter School in Houston are running for a cause!

Their Run-A-Thon is raising money for Marathon Kids – a program which aims to get kids moving and healthy.

Michelle Beer, a teacher at the school, actually coordinated the whole event and for good reason, too.

“I want to support the kids in any way that I can. I always try to bring in programs like Marathon Kids to my school to get the kids more excited and more motivated to exercise and be healthy,” said Beer.

What’s even cooler, the kids at this school know they are helping out and are enjoying the entire process.

Houston Texans mascot, Toro, also got in on the action – which ended up raising more than enough money.

“My goal for fundraising was $750, and we have way exceeded the goal,” said Beer.

The school raised well over a thousand bucks!

So, way to go Briarmeadow, or should we say, way to run!
