WASHINGTON, D.C. – It’s funny how we are glued to our cell phones, but most people still apparently want nothing to do with phones on planes!

The Federal Communications Commission has opened a 60 day comment period for people to voice their opinions on whether personal calls be permitted on planes. From what we are hearing, word on the street is overwhelmingly — no.

“You have got maybe.. 200 people on a flight, and everyone is on their phone? I think that would be a little much,” says Sherman Hannibal.

“I think it would cause turmoil and more work for the flight attendants,” says Shane Hill.

Regardless of what the FCC decides, Delta and Southwest have already suggested they are not on board with a policy change.  We’ll see what happens.  The idea could take off.
