HOUSTON, TX – Police dashboard cameras can be useful, and not to mention they’re fun to watch on the evening news.
But some concerned members of the Houston community aren’t too pleased with the fact that only 5% of Houston Police Department squad cars are equipped with dash cams – the lowest amount of all big Texas police forces.
According to the president of the Houston Police Officer’s Union, that technology is outdated, costly and limited.
In an ideal world, all 2,300 HPD vehicles would be equipped with dash cams, but it’s all about the money.
The group of concerned citizens took their issue to Houston City Council, and now it’s up to those guys to decide where they’ll spend your money this year.
