HOUSTON, TX – Planned Parenthood and friends are commemorating the 41st anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

“We are gathered here to celebrate access to safe and legal abortion, and we are proud to be here,” said Alejandra Diaz with Planned Parenthood.

Per usual with these sort of things, the event was inside, and the protests were outside.

“Coerced abortions happen everywhere that abortion is legal,” said Julia Holcomb.

Holcomb says she was essentially forced into an abortion many years ago, by someone who may have heard of before: “It was terrible, I was in a long relationship with Steven Tyler, he wrote about his relationship in his books.”

Tyler is the lead singer of the group Aerosmith (there’s way more to that story than we can get into, but just give it a Google!).

The rallies and protests were far from a local thing. Events were held in Washington as well.
