CYPRESS, TX – How can one describe the uneasy feeling of knowing a rapist is on the loose in your neighborhood? But there’s reason for some relief, folks. The Harris County Sheriff’s office says that the main suspect in two cases of home invasion and sexual assaults in the Cypress area has been put behind bars and charge with the crimes.

“Both complainants were able to positively identify Rickey Lee Zepeda from photo lineups as the same suspect who made forced entry into their homes,” explained Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia.

Investigators say Zepeda left behind someone else’s business card after his first attack, and eventually that led the police to him.

“The two small children where in the residence during the first assault in Temple Hill Lane and those kiddos were placed in another bedroom while Rickey Lee Zepeda took the victim to another bedroom and physically assaulted her and eventually sexually assaulted her,” said Deputy Armando Tamez, from Adult Sex Crimes.

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. But our law enforcement agencies are pretty confident that the monster who destroyed lives and families has been taken off the streets.
