HOUSTON, TX – Prosecutors say 19-year-old Luan Vu confessed to killing his on-again-off-again girlfriend, Vy Pham. In court on Monday, the judge set no bond for his capital murder charge.

“He gave a statement in which he stated that he was resentful for her not allowing him in [her] life anymore,” said prosecutor Anna Emmons after Monday’s proceedings.

Emmons says Vu led police to Pham’s body, and that he admitted to stalking his 17-year-old ex, choking her, hitting her with a branch and hiding her body in Sims Bayou. Vu also reportedly sent a text message to Pham’s family demanding $50,000 for her safe return. But she was already dead at the time.
