HOUSTON, TX – Hear ye, hear ye, Harris County Commissioners Court is now in session. First order of business; we need a raise?

That’s the controversy surrounding the February 11th vote. Commissioners say constables get around 6% and the county treasurer gets 3%. Even Montgomery County Commissioners makes $5000 more.

You see, if the raise proposal gets voted in, commissioners pay will go from $149,000 to almost $166,000.

Wow…$149,000, how are they even surviving? Should public officials in this day and age even get 11%?

Actually, the Harris County economy is booming, so pay raises can be accomplished without raising taxes. And that’s all we really care about right? Ugh, maybe.
