ATLANTA, GA – The Georgia House of Representative is working on a bill that would let businesses ban gays. If it passes, the Preservation of Religious Freedom Act will let hotels and restaurants ignore discrimination and civil rights laws based on religion. Some folks like the sound of that in Arizona too.

“We think it’s nothing more and nothing less than protecting religious freedom in our state and we take that very seriously,” Arizona State Senator Al Melvin.

Arizona’s governor will likely veto the bill.

In other gay headlines, a republican lobbyist is kicking-off an effort to ban gays from the NFL. Jack Burkman came out with the plan after Michael Sam came out.

And oh momma, this is a doozie! A Virginia state senator says moms are mere “hosts” to their children.

In response to a reproductive rights group, Republican Senator Steve Martin posted on Facebook: “I’m not going to assume a right to kill it just because the child’s host (some refer to them as mothers) doesn’t want it.”
