Trailrider dies en route to RodeoHouston

CROSBY, TX – A huge tradition in Texas is trailriding. This is the time of year trail riders come together in Houston to kick off the biggest and best rodeo in the nation. But this year there is sad news on the trail.

Robert Joe,  a member of the Northeast Trail Riders, died after suffering a heart attack Thursday morning.

The 79-year-old was taken to a local hospital where he died.

Trail members said Joe was one of ride’s co-founders and had been with them since 1982.

This years rodeo festivities won’t be the same for the Northeast Riders.
