Icy Mess! Winter Storm Warning in Effect Until Noon

stormHOUSTON, TX – We’re under a Winter Storm Warning until noon today. Freezing rain and sleet are falling across the Houston area, creating dangerous road conditions.

Highway 59 is being closed in both directions through Cleveland due to ice.

METRO Houston tells us that all HOV lanes will be open except the 59 North HOV.

Some schools are closing or are on a delay due to the weather:

  • BELLVILLE ISD: Start time delayed until 10am
  • BRENHAM ISD: Delayed 2 hours
  • HUNTSVILLE ISD: Closed Today
  • LIVINGSTON ISD: Closed Today
  • Madisonville Consolidated ISD: Delayed 2 hours; Buses will run with a two-hour delay from normal time
  • NAVASOTA ISD: Start time delayed until 10am; Doors will open for drop-off at 9:30am
  • ONALASKA ISD: Closed Today; Classes will resume with normal hours Wednesday
  • POPE JOHN XXIII HIGH SCHOOL: Start time delayed until 9:30am
  • SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY: Start time delayed until 12:30pm
  • SEALY ISD [WEB]: Delayed 2 hours
  • WILLIS ISD: Closed Today
