Target Photoshops Thigh Gap on Young Model

Nothing like a good Photoshop fail. But this latest one, courtesy of Target, puts the capital F in FAIL!

The retailer’s website is selling the “Xhilaration® Junior’s Midkini 2-Piece Swimsuit -Leopard Print”. At first glance it looks cute and pretty age appropriate but then take a closer look. WTH?!

Check out the bottom piece. You’ll notice that they’ve tried to create a bigger “thigh gap” on the model. Basically cutting out a piece of her crotch. That’s gotta hurt!

And that’s not the only Photoshop fail. I know can you believe it?! The model’s left arm is considerably thinner compared to her right.

What makes this even worse is that this is a “junior” sized suit, so it’s marketed towards young girls. Target has since removed the image from its website, but honestly the damage is already done. Why would they try and Photoshop this to begin with? And what woman, let alone girl, needs to worry about a thigh gap. I mean they may refer to my lady bits in a box, but that doesn’t mean it needs to look like one. I mean it looks like one of those puzzles that you have to fit the shapes in. What the heck is that a rhombus?!

Looks like the retail giant definitely missed the Target when it came to this ad.

And that’s today’s helping of The Online Dish with Maggie.
