CONROE, TX – As President Obama continues to take his stand on immigration, things continue to heat up in Texas. A hunger strike stretches on for detainees at the privately run Joe Corley detention facility in Conroe. It’s owned by the GEO group which also owns a detention center in Tacoma, Washington. There’s a hunger strike there, too.

Fed up with deportation policies and treatment inside, the detainees refuse food.

Now supporters of detainees claim the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are retaliating against the hunger strikers, putting them in solitary confinement. No one from customs or the Geo group returned our calls.
