HOUSTON, TX – While the investigation into what sparked the massive fire in Montrose goes on, the fire department says heavy winds made those massive flames spread quickly.

“You add a lot of fuel, a lot of fire, a lot of wind, you’re going to get a quick spread of fire,” says HFD Senior Captain Ruy Lozano.

Capt. Lozano says the building is in danger of collapsing, so it will be demolished before long.

NewsFix spoke with the woman who shot incredible video of a construction worker being rescued from the top floor of the building.

“I was scared, I was frantic, my heart was racing,” says Karen Jones.

It’s footage you have to see to believe.
