It doesn’t always cost a fortune to get your taxes done. V.I.T.A., or, volunteer income tax assistance program, is an organization that does simple tax returns at the Y.M.C.A. on Cavalcade, and is open to people with income of $52,000 or less. Cool!

Luciana Petry, CPA says,”Volunteers are IRS certified to prepare tax returns and we’re here to help out the community. We have two more weeks left of tax season, so if you have not done them yet, come on down, we’re here Saturday 9-2 for the next couple of weeks. It’s 100% free, you don’t pay for anything at all.”

people have been taking advantage of this service for years, and the fact that they keep coming back year after year says a lot about the work they do…

Deborah Efiong says, “I think what they’re doing is excellent, they’re very efficient and I’ve never had any problems with my taxes here when they do it, and it’s free! Who doesn’t like free.”

Mark Lopez says , “They’re such a great service to the community, there’s a lot of people that really need tax help and there’s not a lot of education out there, so to provide such a service for the community, and people that don’t really know what’s goin on, it’s a blessing and god willing they keep on going and help a lot of people.”

Free and legit? You can’t beat that.
