HOUSTON – School counselors are trusted to take care of students’ emotional well-being, but a MacArthur High School counselor in Aldine ISD may have interpreted that a bit too loosely…

Ellen Wermeling is accused of turning an Instagram flirtation with a senior into a sexual relationship.

According to Harris County court documents, she invited the victim to ‘hang out’ at her house – overnight.

The victim told school police they had sex multiple times and even went to a bar together — until he confided in the school’s football coach.

Aldine ISD released a statement saying, “the staff member was removed from the campus once the district learned of the allegation and will not be returning. The safety and security of our students will continue to be a top priority in Aldine ISD.”

She’s currently on paid administrative leave.

Wermeling is out on $10,000 bond, and her next court date is set for May 13th.

We’ll see what happens…maybe counseling will be ordered for this counselor.
