HOUSTON, TX – A not-so-happy neighborhood in North Houston has state officials scrambling.

23 sex offenders were relocated from a treatment center to a halfway house in the Acres Homes community and get this, it happened with no heads up.

Pretty disturbing, you can understand why people would be upset.

Now the neighborhood has a house full of high-risk sex offenders sportin’ ankle monitors.

State lawmakers and residents demanded the state move the offenders out of their new home… and the state listened.

Officials aren’t saying much about it yet; but we do know several offenders moved to apartments in East Austin.

As for the others, they’re headed to temporary quarters at a secure lockup or at another site not in a residential neighborhood.
