SUNNYVALE, CA – Think about a time you were fired. The typical reaction would probably be sadness or disappointment. Well, unless you were recently fired from Yahoo. Then you might be a little excited.
Just ask Henrique De Castro, Yahoo’s former chief operating officer.
After being hired to help boost Yahoo’s ad sales, he was terminated after only 15 months.
Yahoo’s CEO, Marissa Mayer, decided that he just ‘wasn’t a fit’. But don’t feel sorry for him. He left with a $58 million severance package.
$58 million is more than double his pay from last year and more than triple what his severance package would have been if the company’s stock prices hadn’t increased.
But talk about corporate greed?
