NEW YORK CITY – Now that his vendetta against sugary drinks has come to a not-so-sweet ending, former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg is taking on a new project.

He’s investing $50 million of his own money into turning his two gun control groups into one anti-gun super group, Everytown for Gun Safety.

Must be nice to have the kind of fortune that allows you to bankroll all of your own projects.

Bloomberg is framing this new organization as the anti-NRA, though that $50 million he’s putting in is more than double what the NRA spends annually on political activities.

He has a goal of finding one million new supporters for the project this year. We’re guessing Texas won’t be the first stop in his search.
