HOUSTON, TX – It’s the 178th anniversary of the historic Battle of San Jacinto, where the tide turned in the quest for Texas’ independence from Mexico.

The date was April 21, 1836, a fight for freedom, granting all Texans independence from Mexico. Historic gun fire rang through the trees near La Porte, and is commemorated every year through battle reenactments on the now infamous site where the 570 foot high San Jacinto monument now stands.

The battle reenactment shoots off this Saturday April 25. Why just learn about history when you can live it.
