HOUSTON, TX – The day after deadly tornadoes blow through the South and Midwest, volunteers from Houston are on their way to help.  Houston’s chapter of the American Red Cross is sending support to Little Rock, Arkansas.

“It’s probably the hardest job you will ever do, but it’s the best payment you will ever receive — the smiles and thankfulness,” says Jason Grieger, one of the volunteers expecting to spend at least 2 weeks away.

“I lived in south Florida and went through a lot of hurricanes and Red Cross was always there when we had hurricanes and they helped me out a lot,” says Kimberly Long, also a volunteer.

At least 28 people died in the storm system.
