MISSOURI CITY, TX – A Missouri City Police officer is in serious, but stable condition after he fell off the edge of a bridge.

We know you’re probably wondering how that happened. Well, investigators say it all started with a traffic stop off State Highway 6.

Follow us here — out of nowhere, a car slammed into the back of the officer’s patrol car. That pushed the patrol car into the car he and his partner pulled over. The impact of all that sent the officer flying over the bridge about 30 feet down.

He was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

As for the woman who caused the chain-reaction crash, Sugar Land police say she was drunk and has been charged with intoxication assault.

Drinking and driving; a very dangerous combination.
