HOUSTON, TX – A late night run to the convenience store turned deadly after customers say robbers shot and killed store clerk, Satish Patel, at an Humble-area gas station.
The incident happened at the Phillips 66 along Highway 59, north of the beltway, the same station that was robbed back in March.
Witnesses say about three or four masked suspects came in with guns and tried to rob the store.
The suspects opened fire on Patel, who was behind the counter.
Houston police believe the robbers fled the scene in a pick-up truck.
Even though a truck was found about three blocks away from the store, police aren’t saying whether it’s connected to the robbery.
It’s a sad day when just doing your job costs you your life.
