People Not Mascots suing Cleveland Indians

indiansCLEVELAND, OH – It is a chief concern for the group People not Mascots.

They say this it’s about time for the Cleveland Indians to get a new name and mascot. Since the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office ruled the Washington Redskins trademark a racial slur, Native American advocates want to put pressure on other franchises too.

In Cleveland, the Chief Wahoo mascot has been around in his current form for more than 60 years. To lay him to rest, People not Mascots’ is preparing to file a lawsuit. If the current momentum continues (or sponsors get the jitters) this could turn into a grand slam for the group.
