SEATTLE, WA – If you’re going to try to boost a car make sure you know how to drive it!

Clearly, three Seattle teens have not had enough criminal experience to understand that minor detail. They tried carjacking 70-year-old Nancy Fredrickson as she was grabbing something from the trunk of her car.

Nancy says she turned around and there was a gun in her face, so she dropped the keys and watched as the teens jumped into her car. They didn’t put the pedal to the metal, however.

Not because they didn’t want to, but because they couldn’t drive a manual.

The three made a run for it and cops are using that pesky shifter to pull fingerprints. Perhaps it’s time for those callow criminals to shift gears and look for a new career.
