Houstonians hold memorial for three murdered Israeli teens

HOUSTON, TX – As Israel grieves the deaths of the three teens kidnapped from a West Bank settlement and murdered, Houstonians are showing solidarity by mourning with them.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston and Congregation Beth Yeshurun held a memorial service in honor of the three slain boys.

“They committed no crime, they did nothing wrong, and yet they were taken from us all simply for being Israelis, and it’s depressing, Congregation Beth Yeshurun Rabbi Brian Strauss said.

The teens were laid to rest side by side Tuesday after a massive joint funeral attended by thousands.

Now Israel is vowing to seek justice for the tragic deaths, but the Israeli government is condemning public retaliation after a Palestinian teen was kidnapped and murdered Wednesday.

Here in Houston, mourners pray for a stop to senseless bloodshed.

“We care about Israel’s future and are hopeful even after what has transpired that peace will come to that troubled land,” Congregation Beth Yeshurun Rabbi David Rosen.
