SPOKANE, WA – Maybe workers have rights after all.  Shortly after the state of Washington got the green light to sell weed legally, Mike Boyer took the day off from work to be the first to buy in the city of Spokane.

Little did he know, probably the hardest hit he’d take that day would be from his employer. A viewer saw Mike on the news and called the company he worked for to complain.

Then, Mike got a text message from his boss, asking him to take a drug test, which he failed.

After Mike posted his resume online the same day, and news of him being fired went viral, mike got job offers from public relations to marketing.

Apparently, “going green” seems to already be a gray area for some employers.

Possibly due to public pressure, Mike’s employer re-hired him and paid him for the day he missed work.

Maybe mike should consider a job in bud-tending.
