FAA bans flights to Israel over rocket threat
HOUSTON, TX – Rockets are still being fired into Israel, with one striking about 1 mile from Ben Gurion International Airport, causing a Delta flight to divert and return to Paris.
Leading to this, the FAA has banned American carriers from flying to Israel for 24 hours and several U.S. airlines have suspended flights to Israel indefinitely.
“There is direct conversation between the Israel authorities and the American authorities. We`re trying to evaluate and monitor the situation, and we hope the flights will resume soon.” explained Maya Kadosh, Consul with the Consulate General of Israel
International passengers appreciate the better safe than sorry approach.
“I guess it’s understandable that flights into areas where that kind of weaponry exists,” according to James Randall who was flying out of Bush Intercontinental Airport.
