Family of Houston murder-suicide victim speaks out

HOUSTON, TX – The family of Candace Williams, the mother killed in a murder-suicide last week, knows their pain has been felt by too many others. They are speaking out, requesting support for Williams’ three kids and standing with local leaders calling for change.

“We have a raging epidemic of gun violence and domestic violence,” said Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee at a Tuesday morning press conference.

In this case, Williams’ seven year old daughter woke up to gunshots. In the middle of the night, she ran to a neighbor’s house for help.

Family members say anyone who wants to make a donation to that girl and her two siblings who are now without a mother can contribute to the ‘Candace Williams Memorial’ account at Wells Fargo.

But the other target here is simply for the violence, to stop.
