HOUSTON – Who doesn’t love Fridays? You’re pretty much checked out for the weekend before the day even starts.

But everyone looking for a little Friday morning procrastination today made a terrible discovery — Facebook was down for the count!

The outage only lasted about 20 minutes as users encountered error messages, but that didn’t stop people from chatting about it on a different social network.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department tweeted, “Facebook is not a law enforcement issue, please don’t call us about it being down.”

Seriously, people?

Facebook says the outage appears to be related to a “technical issue.”

Maybe this should serve as a wake-up call for all of us — shut down your smart phone every once in awhile. Go outside. Get some sun. And maybe talk to your fellow humans in person. What a concept, huh?
