San Antonio Spurs hire first female Assistant Head Coach

CaptureSAN ANTONIO, TEXAS- WNBA star Becky Hammon is the new assistant coach for the Spurs, and she’s the first full time, paid female assistant coach in the NBA.

Head coach Gregg Popovich says the players respond well to her and that she’s a natural.

Currently, she plays for San Antonio Stars and she’ll be retiring her jersey at the end of the season to take the court in her new role.
