REDMOND, WA – Don’t look now, but everything old is new again in the world of telephones.
If you’re looking for a low-tech throwback to cell phones, then Nokia has your number with a phone with no camera, no internet connection, and no social media apps.
You can use it as a back-up phone or for when don’t need a lot of bells and whistles. It also has up to 36 days of stand-by time.
But it’s not totally low-tech. It will have a video player, a flashlight, and an FM radio. No sense in going totally old school.
Shocking as this may sound, about 15 percent of Americans are not online, according to a study by the Pew Research Internet Project.
Lots of reasons for it: fear of the internet; can’t afford a computer; no way to get online.
So, for them, a low-tech cell phone would be a step up into the twenty-first century.
