RIVERSIDE, CA –Riverside, California is home to California’s citrus industry and the California Citrus State Historic Park.

Riverside is also the proud home of the first Washington Navel Orange Tree.

That tree is now behind bars.

And that’s something one Riverside woman has in common with the tree, other than her navel.

Until recently, Shawna Palmer worked at a grocery store. Then she broke her toe and went on disability.

But it’s hard to claim you can’t stand up when you’re caught strutting in a swimming suit and high heels.

And not just once, but in at least two southern California beauty contests.

Investigators said they tried hard, but couldn’t find the orthopedic boot and crutches her doctor provided because of her painful injury.

In other words, what God gave her in beauty, he must have taken away in brains, because now this California cutie faces jail time along with the chance to wear the crown of Miss Knucklehead 2014.
