Man fakes own death to avoid marrying girlfriend

Forget the saying, 'Fake it till ya make it.' 23-Year old Tucker Blandford, of Stamford, Connecticut figured he'd 'fake it just to break it.'

Alex Lanchester met the man she thought she'd spend the rest of her life with while studying abroad at the University of Connecticut, in 2012.

Just months before the couple's big day, Alex got some dreadful news. Someone claiming to be Tucker's father called the bride-to-be  to tell her he'd been killed in a car accident.

When she called Tucker's mother to offer her condolences she got an even bigger surprise. Mother Tucker had no idea what she what the poor girl was talking about saying her son was alive and well.

It didn't take long for Alex to figure out her beau had faked his own death to avoid spending the rest of his life with her.
