HOUSTON,TX - There has been a rash of restaurant robberies across Houston, including four overnight on August 20 targeting three Denny's and a Mexican eatery.

Things turned deadly at La Hacienda on Memorial Drive when robbers shot an employee several times outside of the restaurant.

Then, they turned their guns on two other employees inside. Unfortunately, one of the employees died.

Now, on to triple trouble for Denny's. Those robberies weren't as violent, but they were bad enough. The first one happened around midnight at the Denny's on Wilcrest Drive near the Katy Freeway. Two suspects robbed the joint, and one pistol-whipped a man who tried to get their license plate.

An hour later, the Denny's on Southmore Road was hit as well. Then, a third was robbed on North Sam Houston parkway near Wilson Road.

Coincidental or connected? Houston Police Department isn't sure yet, but all of the bad guys got away.
