HOUSTON, TX - Wendy Davis is on a mission.  She wants to be governor of Texas and the top item on her platform is to crackdown on sex crimes.

“I will classify sexual assault as the same level as other heinous crimes such as murder, manslaughter and human trafficking, which have no statute of limitations,” Davis says.

Davis announced the intention at a Thursday August 21 press conference in Houston. Just like her ad on TV, it suggests she's there for victims, but her opponent Greg Abbott, who knows?

For their part, Abbott's people say he's on the same page as Davis when it comes to getting rid of the statute of limitations and working on rape kit backlog.

In other words, their records are different, but they are basically saying the same things now.
