HOUSTON, TX - Houston's homeless will go just about anywhere to seek refuge, but for one homeless man, a late night slumber turned deadly.

A security guard saw the homeless man sleeping behind Northline Mall in north Houston, so he woke him up.

Then things just spiraled out of control.

Police say the homeless guy got aggressive, so the guard called HPD for backup.

When police got there, cops say the guy attacked the officer and then headed for the security guard and that's when the guard shot and killed him.

For now, HPD is investigating.

But no matter what they find, just goes to show, life on the streets really is dangerous.
