HOUSTON, TX - A "do- it- yourself" paradise, the Texas Home and Garden Show at the NRG Center has something for everyone looking to get a little handy around the house.

But at the Greater Houston Builder`s Association Remodelers Council Annual Charity Garage Sale, it`s not just do it yourself, but doing for others.

Larry Abbott with the GHBA Remodelers Council points out, “All the funds go to next year`s charity project which is going to be one of the local charities in the Houston area.”

All year, members of the GHBA donate extra items they`ve got clogging up their store rooms, and these volunteers bring out the goods for sale from %50 - %75 off.

Shawn Lafferty was shopping around the garage sale and said, “I was here last year and got some amazing deals on some phenomenal things so I`m back here this year to try to find some more.”

Last year`s charity project was a renovation of the Sunrise Shelter.

Abbott explains, “We put an entire new air conditioning system in the place and we made dividing privacy walls for the people that were living there.”

The event runs all weekend so if you missed it Saturday, there`s always tomorrow.
