HOUSTON, Tx. --  Houston, it's time to brag!  Mayor Annise Parker made the short list for the 2014 World Mayor Prize; the Oscars for city leaders around the world.

The award is sponsored by the London-based City Mayors Foundation.  Mayor Parker is one of the three U.S. mayors to make the cut; not too shabby!  The global honor is given to mayors who excel in leadership, vision, management ability and integrity.  So, now it's time to vote.  Come on, Dallas.  Help us out on this one!

After being elected to the spot three times, it's no secret Mayor Annise Parker is openly successful.  She's also the only female in America running a city of more than one million people.

"I'm honored by the attention," said Mayor Parker.  "I'm blessed to be the Mayor of Houston because good things are happening in this city."

To support Mayor Parker, send an email to  Write "Houston Parker" in the subject and explain why you think she deserves the award.  If she wins, Houston wins.  We already have Queen Bey.  Now, it is time for Mayor "P".
