RIVERSIDE, Illinois -- Sometimes being polite doesn't always pay off.

Freddie Levison, 57,  was driving down a street in Riverside, Illinois when he saw a cop. So he pulled up to the officer, said hello and drove off.

Seems harmless except the  officer reportedly noticed Freddie swerving from lane to lane.

So the officer pulled him over and made Freddie take a breathalyzer test, and surprise, surprise...Freddie failed!

Freddie swears he was just being friendly when he said hello to the cop, but it seems more like he just had a little liquid courage.

Freddie was arrested and is now facing DUI charges, and that's how this friendly fellow became our Dumbass of the Day!
